Our Approach
Innovation and digital capability support efficiency, traceability and service quality across QL’s value chain. Outdated systems or limited data visibility may constrain performance. Increasing digitalisation also heightens cybersecurity risks. Effective technology management is therefore important to operational effectiveness.
We invest in automation, digital systems, data analytics and cybersecurity to support operational needs. Technology initiatives are aligned with efficiency and performance objectives. Employees receive training to adopt and utilise new systems effectively. These efforts strengthen operational effectiveness and readiness for future requirements.
QL continues to strengthen operational efficiency through digitalisation and automation initiatives, including the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) system to improve integration, data visibility, and business processes.
Within the ILF business pillar, the phased implementation of the Easy Farm System (“EFS”) and Laboratory Information Management System (“LIMS”) have enhanced farm management and laboratory operations. EFS supports real-time monitoring of livestock, feed, and environmental conditions for better planning and resource utilisation, while LIMS improves the accuracy, traceability, and efficiency of laboratory processes, reinforcing product quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
QL strengthens its digital capabilities through IoT integration, Big Data and AI, and analytics tools such as Power BI to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.
The IoT-enabled monitoring systems in ILF business pillar support continuous and automated tracking of key conditions such as temperature, humidity, and air quality, improving animal welfare, enabling early disease detection, and enhancing operational efficiency through real-time insights. In the retail segment, Big Data and AI technologies provide deeper insights into customer preferences and behaviours, supporting product innovation, SKU refinement, and more localised, demand-driven inventory management to improve product availability, reduce waste, and enhance customer experience. Complementing these efforts, Power BI transforms operational data into actionable insights, enabling more effective planning and responsive decision-making while strengthening QL’s digital foundation for future AI-driven initiatives.
QL remains committed to strengthening its cybersecurity framework to safeguard personal and sensitive information amid increasing reliance on digital technologies. Recognising cybersecurity as both a regulatory obligation and a critical business priority, QL continues to enhance its cybersecurity posture through initiatives aimed at mitigating cyber risks and fostering a strong culture of security awareness. During the year, QL undertook various cybersecurity strengthening exercises as part of its overall cybersecurity roadmap, enhancing its readiness to address evolving cyber threats and further strengthening organisational resilience against potential cybersecurity incidents.
