Position Title: Senior Production Executive (Bakery)

Snapshot of the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Production Executive with expertise in bakery production. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing manpower-related issues, planning production schedules, controlling production progress, and establishing production processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficient and high-quality bakery operations.

You are driven to:

  1. Manpower Management:
    • Supervise and manage production staff, including bakers, assistants, and support staff.Address and resolve manpower-related issues, including shift scheduling, performance management, and training needs.
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
  2. Production Planning and Scheduling:
    • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and production targets.
    • Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and ingredients.
    • Monitor production timelines and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines and minimize downtime.
  3. Production Control:
    • Oversee the entire bakery production process, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
    • Implement and maintain production tracking systems to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly to maintain continuous workflow.
  4. Process and SOP Development:
    • Establish and document production processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality.
    • Conduct regular reviews and updates of SOPs to reflect changes in production techniques or technology.
    • Train production staff on new and existing processes and SOPs to ensure compliance.
  5. Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure all products meet established standards.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes and finished products.
    • Address any quality-related issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  6. Health and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the production area.
    • Conduct regular safety training and drills for production staff.
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

What you’ll need to succeed: (job requirements)

  1. Qualifications and Skills:
    • Proven experience in a senior production role within a bakery or food production environment.
    • In-depth knowledge of bakery production techniques, equipment, and ingredients.
    • Strong leadership and people management skills.
    • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to develop and implement production processes and SOPs.
    • Familiarity with quality control and health and safety standards in food production.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  2. Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Business Management, or a related field (preferred).
  3. Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in bakery production, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
